Tom’s vision is for a green and prosperous land. A landscape of flourishing rural and farming livelihoods. Now, and in the future. His aim is for Selby Rural to be the Land Agents & Chartered Surveyors behind thriving rural and agricultural businesses. He offers an authentic and yet modern approach. He provides sound, straightforward, and practical advice and support.
Over the past four months he has been beavering away for this day; what seemed an age away some time ago has now come round incredibly quickly.
He is on a mission. A mission to protect the future of great British farmers and their livelihoods. That’s his reasoning behind founding Selby Rural, following a decade in practice as a Chartered Rural Surveyor, a RICS Registered Valuer, and a Fellow of the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers (CAAV) in Cheshire.
Married to a local dairy farmer, Mary (and parent to two mini-farmers and an enthusiastic black Labrador), outside of providing sound and practical advice to fellow farmers and rural businesses, you can sometimes find Tom in the parlour milking the herd of pedigree Holstein cows.
A Harper Adams University College Rural Enterprise and Land Management graduate, Tom lived in New Zealand milking cows for 18 months before starting out his career in rural practice. Tom also enjoys acting as an examiner for surveyors wishing to qualify with RICS and is also the current secretary of the Weston and District Agricultural Discussion Group.
