Massey Feeds Mill tour 11th October 2023 – A huge success!
Tom Selby organised the tour of the Mill courtesy of Massey Feeds. A total of 20 professionals attended the evening at the Holmes Chapel Mill.
Massey Feeds produces the UK’s first range of sustainable ruminant feeds with zero soya and palm kernel. The business is still family-owned operating over 3 mills. The business has its 6th generation now involved, producing 240,000 tonnes of animal feed per year.
The tour included a behind the scenes explanation of the raw materials coming into the mills from local farms to Liverpool docks, the various products (such as rolls, nuts, pellets, meal mix or crumbs) and how logistically it ends up on the right farm or in the right 25kg bag. The new bagging machine can fill and pallet up 10 tonnes per hour of 25 kg bags.
Massey feeds very kindly provided refreshments and a very insightful tour of the mill.
